About this Costume

I told my cousin I'd help her make this cosplay, but closer towards the con she wasn't able to come over to help/try it on, so it's pretty much unfinished aside from the red shirt/buttcape and the skirt. The shirt is made out of a dark red casa satin, I frankenstein'd a dress pattern so that the bodice and the skirt could be patterned as one piece, and added a gusset and invisible zipper in the back so that it would be more cape-y. I free-handed the collar, which is trimmed with bias tape (as are the sleeve holes), and sewed the front of the shirt together. The buttons are not functional, and the keyhole cutout is trimmed with some casa satin that's fabric glued on. (We were very desperate the night before, ok?) My cousin bought some pre-bought ruffles to save time, which were sewn on after the shirt was hemmed. The armwarmers are made from scraps of the lycra from my Sailor Moon bodysuits, and some black cotton I had in my Box o' Fabrics. The skirt is a circle skirt made from casa satin that's knife pleated and attached to an elastic waistband. There is a soul gem! It's hiding, but it's made out of resin with a craft foam backing.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Sad face because I have no nice photos of this costume with my cousin. ; A ; Next year!!
