Construction Details:

♥~Shirt~♥rnI re-patterned my school uniform shirt pattern that I had made for Usagi's HS Uniform since I'm smaller now and I fitted it a little closer than the original was fit to me. I made a new sleeve pattern to be accurate to Kagome's design. I also drafted a brand-new sailor collar and dickey pattern. All the stripes on the shirt were matching hand-made bias tape and all the green parts are fully lined.rn♥~Kerchief~♥rnI ran out of time to make one so I bought one from Bodyline when I got my Hazuki shoes. It's a little long so I will eventually be replacing it. (it is a separate piece from the shirt)rn♥~Skirt~♥rnI used the same pattern as I did for Mami's school uniform's pleated skirt but I drafted/added a pocket to hide in the pleats and be accurate to Kagome's skirt. The skirt is fully lined. (I had to re-pleat this skirt 3 times before I was satisfied.)rn♥~Shoes & Socks~♥rnI bought authentic Japanese loose socks, they are so soft and comfy! I had wanted loose socks the first time I cosplayed her but they were too expensive and I could only find the super long type back then. I found the perfect shoes on eBay, they are real leather.rn♥~Backpack~♥rnI re-used my original gigantic yellow book bag Which I designed/altered a pattern for, but I cleaned it up and gave it an upgrade. I replaced all the old eyelets with grommets and old buckles with new more accurate buckles. I then filled the backpack like in the show with "ninja" food, manga, travel toothbrush, and much more...rn♥~Quiver & Arrows~♥rnI made a quiver using a cardboard armor method and a bit of rope. The arrows were made from dowels that I hand finished and hand fetched with fetchings I made from real feathers.rn♥~Shikon no Kakera~♥rn(I re-used my original prop from 2004.) I found a cute little glass bottle at a local craft store and I filled it with a few plastic gems that looked like the shards in the show.

Personal Thoughts:

I had wanted to remake my Kagome cosplay forever. It finally got under my skin enough that I felt the need to rewatch all of Inuyasha (including The Final Act) and I had to do this cosplay! I love the show and Kagome so much that working on this cosplay was a very cathartic process because I wanted to finally do her justice. :D
