About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The bodice, arm and hip rolls are all made out of stretch bathing suit lining, using Green Pepper's Crystal Lake Skating costume pattern for the bodice itself. The sailor collar and skirt are made out of blue broadcloth cotton, and the bows and glove rolls are made with the same fabric, just red. The skirt is hand pleated and hemed. Bows are handmade. The boots and gloves themselves were the only things purchased or ordered.
The tiara is made of craft foam, stiffened by Mod Podge, painted a golden yellow, and the gem is made with air dry clay, painted red, glossed, and hot glued onto the tiara, which stays on my forehead with spirit gum. The choker is made with red ribbon and a craft foam crescent moon. The broach was made with air dry clay, carved with an xacto knife to define the details, and painted according to reference pictures. The earrings are made with three swarovski pearls each, and each crescent moon was individually sculpted out of air dry clay, painted, and punched a hole through to run the fishing line through to keep them all together. - Personal Thoughts:
- My first fully made costume!

- Wig Review
- This was a little difficult to make, and very frustrating at times, but I love it, without the odango ornaments it is super light!
