Construction Details:

I started patterning for this costume when the Official art was first released. I started a version of the dress in 2007 and was not happy how it was going. I started collecting fabric and in early 2013, I decided it was time to start cutting!
The main dress is made in Wonder Crepe. It's two layers with a layer of heat n' bond between them. I used that to turn my two pieces into one sheet of fabric. This stiffened the fabric so it would take the sharp pleat I needed and well as held the dress panels flat where I needed them to be! I did several technique tests before I arrived at this one and I'm definitely happy with it. It took 15 yards of Wonder Crepe and 30 yards of Heat n bond. The bodice is faux silk underlined in twill and lined in Rayon. The white designs are a chain stitch embroidery. In hylian it reads "In a realm beyond sight, the sky shines gold not blue. There the triforce's might makes mortal dreams come true". The floss used is actually a glow-in-the-dark. So in the darkness the runes actually glow.
My Armor is made from craft foam with a layer of Plastic canvas mesh sandwiched in between! It was sealed with modge podge, painted, sealed again and then coated in several layers of polyurethane. When I get time I would like to remake it out of worbla (especially now that I know my patterns work so well). Im very pleased with it at the moment!

There are a few things I would like to change or redo on this costume, but over all I'm very happy with it at the moment!

Styling Notes

I used an arwen and a Matilda and wefted them together, then added a pack of extensions on either side of the weft for the front locks of hair. I straightened both of the wigs before combining them!
