Construction Details:

I dyed and attached interfacing to the plaid that I found for her skirt. I wanted to go with the color scheme from the concept art, that was a little tealer than her in-game sprites. I used the same dye-mix on the navy cotton I had purchased for her seifuku collar and sleeves, so they would also be tinted teal. I was a lot happier with the end results than I had been with the original fabric I had found. Because the plaid I had found had been an almost flannel-like fabric, the interfacing I put into it helped hold the pleats a lot more nicely than it would have otherwise. However, next time, I think I'll stick to featherweight interfacing, so that the skirt doesn't get too bulky.

Her seifuku is a bit strange, since there's a prominent seam that goes down the middle and it's very fitted, unlike a traditional seifuku. To accomadate this, I put in princess seams and put a zipper down the front and center, to make that seam stand out, the way it does in the art. I was fairly happy with the result.

The bow was made from crepeback satin and the patches purchased on Taobao as I do not have an embroidery machine.

Personal Thoughts:

I was so excited to cosplay my little idol. Her uniform was the first costume of hers that I made, and it was pretty easy to put together! I made a knife prop to go along with the costume, since I was going to be shooting with a Leon. c:

Wig Review

Great thickness and color! I really dislike shiny and bright blue wigs for Maizono, so this worked out perfectly. As stated before the wig is insanely thick. I had some issues with flyaways while wearing it, but this was solved with some hairspray.

Any issues I had with tangling was quickly remedied by a portable steamer. All in all, a great versatile, long wig.
