Construction Details:

The majority of the outfit was fairly easy. Basic black turtleneck, black slacks, black boots. I did make all the belts (the arm and leg ones out of blue vinyl and the waist one out of a shiny teal vinyl), the necklace (which is a clear card holder with a YGO trading card glued inside), and the guantlets (which are made out of vinyl, spandex, and purse feet).

The hard part of this cosplay was the coat...duster...thing... The shell is midweight apparel vinyl and the lining is dull satin. I edged the entire thing is vinyl bias tape too....which was probably dumb because a.) I don't think you really need to cut vinyl on the bias so there's that and b.) I nearly killed my hand after the first three hours of hand sewing it on (8 hours total.... orz). But! I think the vinyl ended working out fairly well since it drapes pretty much exactly like it should, crazy anime physics aside. I just needed some thin wire in the front to help keep certain parts of it aligned properly.

Personal Thoughts:

I've started getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh again and so cosplay just kind of came in tow as usual. I didn't want to try Mai again (not yet anyway) and as much as I love Jounouchi, his outfits are pretty boring. So I decided to cosplay Kaiba since I like him a lot and my friend said I had a good face for him.

Styling Notes

Just some minor trimming. One side of the bangs ended up a liiiiiiittle short though. :<
