Construction Details:

this wasn’t difficult because i used a commercial pattern but it was just.. time consuming, for some reason

i used cotton for this whole dress, a dark green for the dress and a white for the sleeves. it’s just a basic dress, you can find a similar pattern anywhere. bodice with princess seams, puffy sleeves, gathered rectangle skirt, zipper up the back. the dress and sleeves are one piece, and then i wear a sleeveless collared shirt underneath. the skirt was fully gathered at the top and then slightly gathered at the bottom, with the pleats attached to the bottom. gathered tulle underneath for more poof.

the bow is a red satin which attaches with a snap and the brooch was found on ebay, but it wasn’t a mass-produced item so you wouldn’t be able to find the exact one anymore. the hair bow is a heavy black satin with pearls sewn on (although rhinestones might be preferable?) and attached with a hairclip.

the wig is two wigs, sewn together, i used leftover wig fiber for the braid.

Personal Thoughts:

it started with me thinking "okay i guess out of all the characters my face works best as sonia" but as i worked on the costume i began to love her more.. now she's 100% my favorite sdr2 character never going back

i plan to remake some parts of this (mainly i just need to make the stockings accurate) before i wear it again at AX this year!
