Construction Details:

It's on .75" thick MDF. I bought a 50" long piece, and outlined the shape of the scissor blade on it, and I had my friend Jigsaw the outline out. Then, I spent literally countless hours hand filing it into the proper shape. It was spray painted with a red metallic, but I ended up painting over it with red acrylics, and then putting a few clear coats on top. This would look much better if I were more patient when it came to waiting for things to dry! I think the blade is around 49" long.

Personal Thoughts:

So this was the first woodworking project I have done. I had no idea how I was going to make this, I thought about just doing the cosplay without the blade since I had no serious prop-making experience, and I couldn't afford to buy one from someone. I'm so happy with this though, and can't wait to see what I am capable of making in the future, since I feel like this is an excellent start.
