Construction Details:

I really wanted to play with textured fabrics on a fantasy fluffy costume, and took the opportunity here to play with the embellished dark blue fabric, and the aqua brocade. Outside of cosplay, I've been working with patterned fabrics and pattern matching, and so I experimented a bit here with matching the brocade pattern in the seams wherever I could. And then I embellished the hem with beads and sequins, because why not.

I also decided to play with foamies to make the crown and belt, and had some moderate success with cutting and layering the foamies, some pretty great results with embossing the foam with a heat gun and a negative mold, and a lot of fun painting it all with metallics and glitter.

Personal Thoughts:

I found some fanart I liked while searching the "gowns" tag on zerochan and was instantly afflicted with the "MAKE FLOOFY THINGS" bug.

Wig Review

It's a really, really pretty wig. I love the color enough to give the wig a pass on its maintenance issues.
