About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Entire dress patterned by me. Dress is made of hand-dyed cotton sateen cut into strips and sewn together to make the striping pattern. Arm/leg socks are gradient-dyed white tights with fleece tubes hand-sewn on for the swirls. Stars are cardboard star ornaments from Hobby Lobby painted with spray paint and glitter, then hot glued to the dress. Middle section is made from glitter organza, with cotton scallops for the top trim and more fleece tubes for the bottom. Bottom section of middle sash is hand-sewn to the dress to keep it from moving around. Hem trim is 2 feather boas sewn around the edge, with horsehair braid to give it shape. Glove is mosquito netting fabric with rhinestones glued on in a star pattern.
STRIPES. - Personal Thoughts:
- CHANGIN' MY WORLD~
I wish I could say that this is the most time-consuming costume I've made but I think Stein still holds that crown.
I've wanted to cosplay this outfit since the moment I saw it, and after about a year and a half of planning and scheming (and a month of frantically sewing) it's finally finished! I'm so pleased. ;u;
I was also able to win a judges award for this cosplay in my first solo contest! So many happy tears wow
