About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I 50/50 attempted to be historically accurate with the actual construction. Everything was made by me. The shift is real linen and made with a historical pattern. I added pre-made embroidery that I cut out of organza onto the sleeves. The bodice is steel boned and stiffened with duck cloth. The skirts are tubes pleated at the waist. I made the jacquard gold piping myself. The velvet cape is lined with real rabbit fur, and the applique satin stitched by me with same gold jacquard.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I chose a standard Italian renaissance style to make my own version of Merida, just something to make is interesting and different!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I left the base wig hair as is, but I added dark copper red wefts (Arda) and curled them.
