Construction Details:

Oh goodness. Let's break this down. This was such a team effort between all of us. Head to toe, The tiara was made for me by Chira, but I believe it's craft foam with gold spandex glued down to it with the gem glued on top. I just tucked it under my wig to keep it on. The gold earrings I bought on Amazon; they're clip-ons. The chokers were made from the same fabric as our collars and skirts, and we glued little foam stars on that Ello kindly painted gold for us.

Most of the costume was made from a pattern bought off of Zan's site because we liked the look and it was a lot easier than winging a costume pattern that may not look good on someone else's body, so I won't go into drafting things because we didn't do most of it ourselves. The skirts, however, we switched to actual pleated skirts using the pattern on Sparkle Pipsi's deviantArt, except we put horsehair braid in our skirt hems. The waist and sleeve rolls are stuffed with cotton batting (the upholestery kind that comes in sheets by the yard), and the clear sleeve is quilting plastic (is that what it's called?? Someone else in the group provided it for me) sewn in by machine with a denim needle.

The bodysuit is lycra, the skirt and collar (and all matching parts) are poplin, and the bows are all the wrong side of satin. I made the mold and cast the heart brooches for the group out of Quik Cast resin. The glove rolls varied, but some of us put upholestery piping through them and others used batting. I used batting because my hands couldn't fit through with piping. We all bought our gloves from WeLoveColors and cut them down to the appropriate length. My shoes were painted with Design Masters floral paint.

Personal Thoughts:

This project was such an undertaking but it was SO worth it and I was so thrilled to have an almost complete group at the con. Childhood dreams coming true! It's also a plus to be totally height accurate cosplaying a girl when you're my size, haha. It was so much fun!!
