Construction Details:

School uniform = super easy! I love straightforward construction. ;_; The jacket is actually a motorcycle jacket pattern that I modded a little because for some reason, I couldn't find a decent double-breasted jacket pattern? The fabric is a suiting from Joanns. For the skirt, I was SHOCKED that I was able to find a nice stretch twill in that bizarre teal color. Just had to shorten the pattern to Magical Girl Hoo Hoo length. The tie was actually the hardest because it first came out comically large...?

Like I said, REALLY straightforward.

Personal Thoughts:

I got ridiculously excited when I was not only asked to join a Rayearth group (which I have loved since the dawn of time) but I also got asked to join as UMI. MY FAVORITE. I thought I would have to knife-fight somebody for her.

Making this outfit was so pleasant, and wearing them was an absolute blast. Our group had a nice turnout and people seemed really excited to see us dressed up from an "old classic." I got a lot of high-fives.

Originally we were going to do their first set of armor, but we have a couple of real life issues that cropped up. I'm hoping that we'll give it another go because I would love love to wear this again.

Styling Notes

I just cut and styled some blunt bangs into it, nothing major.
