About this Costume

Altered a pattern that included multiple darts to add a collar and lapels. I used bottomweight stretch cotton sateen for the dress and hat, which worked wonderfully. It's fully serged and finished inside. The hat has a HeatnBonded on cross I made out of a scrap of 4-way stretch vinyl I got from MJTrends. The cross buttons are foamie sandwiched between two pieces of stencil plastic, which I then hot glued one side of a snap onto. I sewed tiny buttonholes onto the dress to push the other side of the snaps through, which secured it as is, then I could snap the two together without trying to made a giant, presumably non functioning buttonhole to push the crosses through. The crosses on the legs are also made with foamie and stencil plastic. The shoes I lucked into by plugging in variations on "white wedge heel" into eBay. The leg wraps are just 3" side wound dressing bandages. The eye bandage is gauze I athletic taped (with spirit gum on the very edges) to my eye area. The face mask I purchased at Daiso. The gloves are latex free ones I got at the dollar store. I purchased flavor injectors at Walmart and filled them up with green, purple, and orange glitter to match Valentine's Vial Hazard attack. The contacts are Pinky Paradise's Venus Eye Bright Red.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This was a dream costume of mine, I'm so glad I finally just bit the bullet and made it! I'm not happy with certain aspects of it, but overall I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I didn't use the long ponytail that came with the Jeannie. I teased the shorter ponytail that the wig comes in into messy spikes, then teased and heat trained the bangs into shape. Not perfect, but not too bad for a hotel job, lol.
- Wig Review
- The color is PERFECT in person but photographs a bit light. Still great for my purposes though.
