Hahaha I made this in two weeks when I was working full time why do I do this to myself. Everything is obnoxious shiny two-way stretch spandex and I love it.
The top was patterned from scratch. It buttons around the neck so I can slide it off easily, since the top and pants are attached. I used the same buttons as for the top for the glove. The butterflies are scrapbooking supplies my mom had lying around and the larger butterfly is a mix of leather and foam I painted. The spider web motif is fabric paint I applied with a lot of painting tape. I think it took an entire evening because I did each line at a time. It looks super messy from up-close but at the time I didn't have time to bother making a pattern that wouldn't ruin the stretch of the outfit.
The suspenders are a separate part and they're fixed in the front so I can't take them off, but the ones in the back are buttoned inside the pants so I can unbutton them easily. Otherwise I just can't sit or bend down.
I pulled apart an old pair of pants to have something to work with. I intended to make the stupid Jojo bootpants at first but I realized that was way too much work so they're really just pants over a pair of long boots, but you can't really tell unless you're close. Like for the top part the webs are just painted on. The square... thingies are squares I cut out of foam + halves of styrofoam balls that I painted and glued on them. They fell off once or twice but were alright other than that.
The shoes are an old broken pair of boots I had lying around that I cut so they wouldn't be too big to fit inside the pants and glued back together desperately. I painted the sole and my mom covered them in the same spandex as my pants which basically saved my life because I had no idea how to go about it. I thought they would be too hot for august weather, but I actually had a harder time in april where I kept sliding on snow because of the painted soles... - Personal Thoughts:
- This is probably one of the most poorly conceived and constructed cosplay I made and yet I always get positive responses for it. I'm glad because Jolyne is my favorite female character ever so I always feel so confident being her!
