Construction Details:

I stuck with my tried and true method of making horns for this one--expandable foam wrapped in aluminum foil and then covered in a layer of paperclay. They are attached to the wig via galvanized wire. The studs (also used in the armor for the arms) are brass fasteners.
For the dress, I made a simple strapless mermaid tail style prom dress out of grey activewear fabric. The plan was to sew strips of costume pleather to the bottom, but four layers in and I'd realized I'd made a mistake. I switched tactics and glued strips of craft foam that I'd spray painted silver to the dress. That gave me the look I was going for. Countless strips of craft foam and sticks of hot glue later, the bottom of the dress was complete. I took some copper acrylic paint and tossed it onto the bottom of the dress for a rusting look, which I carried throughout the entire costume.
The arms are craft foam glued to sheets of acetate, spraypainted silver, then weathered and rusted with acrylic. The studs, as mentioned before, are brass fasteners. For the forearms I made four belts made out of brown upholstery and some gold buckles and hot glued them in place.
And the piece de resistance, my breastplate, was made with craft foam sandwiched between worbla, with the exception of the chest, which is just two layers of worbla. I used techniques from videos posted by Kamui cosplay, the worbla queen. This stuff is a great material and wonderful to work with. The shoulder pauldrons are also worbla with more brown vinyl glued to it. The studs in this case are just googly eyes. Her blue symbol is more craft foam. I am pretty much walking around in a costume that is 80% craft foam.
I made the simplest pair of armsocks a person can make as well as a super quick pair of boot covers made from silver costume shiny fabric and I was all set. The grey wig started out straight, but I took a curling iron to it and trimmed the bangs.

Personal Thoughts:

I loved Aradiabot's no-nonsense approach to things in-comic, so I forgave her for beating my favorite spiderlady to a pulp. Her canon design is great, but when I saw this steampunk design I couldn't resist cosplaying her.

Styling Notes

I attempted to use foam rollers and it didn't work out. The curling iron, though very time consuming, was the best method to adding all-around curls to a straight wig.
