Construction Details:

Ah let's see. I started out with ordering everything I needed online first. For my makeup I used Mehron's Paradise Light Green. Mint Green tights from WeLoveColors.com. A wig from animestuffstore.com. And a stuffed white tiger from Amazon. Then at JoAnns I got a bit of teal linen and some forest green linen. The shoes and belts came from Ross. I made the dagger from Worbla (my first (mini) project with it). I made the tunic on the fly; I traced a dress from my closet, sewed up the sides then set in the sleeves (which took the longest amount of time). Then I tore/sliced and burned (Warning: Linen extremely flammable!) the edges of the dress and scarf. Finally I snipped and formed the belts (this took the second most amount of time).

Personal Thoughts:

Finally! I a character from Adventure Time I instantly fell in love with. I think what I like about Shoko the most is she is who she is.
Wearing this cosplay is different for me. My other two or three cosplays (that I wear regularly) are much more elegant refined characters. Shoko is a ruff and tuff, chill gurl. Like Finn, of course. It's definitely been a bit tough stepping into her shoes, but I am for sure going to wearing her again in the future.
By far probably the most comfortable cosplay I have worn so far (besides my arm being crushed up in my sleeve, that's really hard on the elbow joint). I only have to paint my face, arm and elbow, which actually takes less time than to put on Azula's makeup (why? Beauty makeup does not come easy or fast).
Also for a "quick" costume it certainly wasn't easy on the budget.

Styling Notes

I really lost track of how long it took me style this wig. It was at most six hours. I started by chopping in the stepped layers down both sides. Blended it and feathered with a razor comb. Then volumiezed the whole base of the wig with hair spray and a dryer.

Wig Review

The wig is not perfect but as damn near perfect as you are going to get for that price and fiber. Tangle factor is 4/5. It's not butter but sure darn untangles without a problem. Fibers are the perfect cross between matte and shiny for a natural look. Does have a skin top at the very top of the head which proved completely useless or pointless. Excellent quality for price plus length.
