All of my step by step progress photos are on facebook (fb/limitlessedgecosplay) if you would like to check that out! I first started with the bodice, using a over the chest corset pattern and mocking it up to extend like a skirt in the front into an apron bustle. I added boning structure to the corset, then sewed on the lace, and hand stitched on gold rings (usually for necklaces) and looped a white ribbon through it. The 70 beads were also hand sewed onto the chest piece! It was tedious work but sooo worth it! The hardest part was mocking up the ruffle butt skirt (gathered bustle). I started out with a simple wrap around mini skirt, and added on layers of ruffles in two different colors ontop with a sheer fabric. I've attached draping ruffles to the bottom of the corset so that it hangs and blends the corset and the skirt together, and also added the big ribbon to sit at the top of the ruffle! Her headpiece was made from felt (like a plushie) and the beads, and the chocolate syrup was hand sewed on as well! Message me on fb if you have any questions!
- Personal Thoughts:
- I've finally jumped onto the Sakizo train!! After going through tons and tons of Sakizo reference pictures, looking, gawking, and drooling over the amazing past Sakizo cosplayers.. I finally decided to cosplay Sakizo for the NorCal Fall Gathering *yay*! It was a great test run for Fanime 2014 where I'm hoping to wear this with other Sakizo cosplayers :)
