Construction Details:

I went through two versions of this yukata: one with a top and skirt and the new one as a one piece. It is made out of cotton polyester blend, and the black strips were made from a sateen cotton for a slight sheen. Sandals were bought and the beige sole was shoe glued on and then painted. The obi was made with stiff interface and velcro for closure. I made the bow and a pillow for added support as well. The fan and tail were bought. I made the eri sugata out of interface and it was wrapped around my torso with elastic. The plug clips were made with red sculpy, an aluminum foil base, and then sanded a million times with varied grit. In an attempt to show as little as the hair clip as possible, I baked the plug clips with the hair clips pushed inside. There are many pieces of elastic that I tied around my waist before wearing the obi for more support. Overall a much more time consuming cosplay than I thought.

Personal Thoughts:

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! However I will be re wearing it with a different wig. Overall a great learning experience
