About this Costume
Construction Details:
The overgown is made of a cotton velvet. The black layer is made of silk, the kirtle is made of linen, and the smock is made of cotton. There are upwards of 200 beads on the hat, which was made with buckram, silk, and cotton velvet. The gown is trimmed with beads in a flower setting.
Personal Thoughts:
This was a reproduction based on the 1495(ish) portrait of Juana la Loca. It is my gateway into pre-/early Tudor historical gowns!
