Construction Details:

The dress is some sort of satin from Joann's. I don't remember exactly which kind, I know it's not costume satin, but regardless, it's shiny on purpose. I wanted shiny. She's made of fire. I wanted the dress to move an shift in the light as fire would. The bottom trim is red organza very loosely stitched down, so it could still be mobile as I moved. The top trim is the same organza, backed by the same satin as the dress. The bodice is boned, and the skirt is a circle skirt with a horse hair braid hem. The gems are model magic, attached to my head by spirit gum and the dress by velcro. Because Flame Princess doesn't seem like the kind of person to wear shoes to me, I decided to sew insoles to the bottom of a pair of tights so i could be pseudo-barefoot. I used yellow ochre Snazaroo for the body paint, which matched the tights more closely than i could have hoped. The wig is just styled using a lot of got2b spray.

Personal Thoughts:

This is my favorite cosplay to date. And, (I'm still a very new cosplayer) it was the first cosplay that I entirely made myself. I love characters with short hair and was so excited to see Flame Princess rocking it because I love her a whole lot. This is probably my favorite outfit of hers, but definitely not the last one i will be making.
