Construction Details:

I decided on a cream colored linen for the base of this costume. The fabric is very soft and has a nice feel to it. The jacket was sewn to have no seams down the sides and the pattern for it looked rather ridiculous (enjoy my poor drawing skills in paint). I sewed it together at the shoulder and then added sleeves to it. The pants were even more easy and the pattern looked like this. Sewn together on the sides and the lower middle part and pulled together at the legs and the hip with elastic band.
I chose a simple dark blue fabric for the shirt. The neckline was done by adding a second layer around the edges which were sewn outer side on outer side and then turned over to get a nice look.
For the red obi I decided to use golden lines instead of yellow. I parted the red outer layer and added golden stripes in different length to it on the left and the right (didn't do the middle part since it's plain red there). once everything was added and had the right size, I sewed it onto the red fabric (outer side on outer side), turned it over and then closed the ends of it.

Personal Thoughts:

Cosplaying Alibaba was a lot of fun. He's an awesome character and I can connect to him easily.
