Construction Details:

I started with a Styrofoam ball and some wire from the Dollar Tree. Bent the wire into the neck and head first, then the front and back legs, lastly the tail. All wire was pushed into the foam ball and covered with fur from Ever After Fabrics (http://www.etsy.com/shop/everafterfabrics). The head and tails are felt, with details painted on and teddy bear eyes. The neck, head, and legs are stuffed with some batting and scraps of the fur. To finish off the feet I wrapped them in silver vinyl left over from another project. Once at the convention I added blue wire around her front legs on the underside so she can sit on my hand, and I don't have to carry it like a baby. Oh her wings! Felt and fur with wire sandwiched between. I trimmed all the fur down with a razor, then used school glue like hair gel over the body, legs, and neck. When I have her sitting on my hand or arm I can move a bit so it looks like she is flapping her wings slightly.
My first "puppet" and I am very happy with how it came out!

Personal Thoughts:

I wanted to make a Pina for my Silica costume at Anime Boston so I wrote her into the script for our presentation so I couldn't back out of making it. Almost did, She was put together the Wed. into Thurs before I left for the con.
Best moment with her was when the Director and Producer of SAO pet her and wanted to hold it!!!!!
