About this Costume
Construction Details:
This is one of the first "found item" costumes I've made in a long time. I got the pants on sale at Old Navy and dyed them and the jacket lining to get them the same dark grey color. The sweater was originally a long sleeve white turtleneck that I dyed a light grey and cut the sleeves off of. The sleeves were then used to make the "gloves" and "socks". The jacket is made out of black rodeo cotton and lined with some left over cotton fabric I had lying around. I altered a motorcycle jacket pattern to get the look I wanted and drafted all the patterns for the gun holsters and harness. Holsters are made out of black craft foam covered in black rodeo cotton. Boots and weapons were all purchased from ebay.

This was my first time doing any major makeup for a costume and it came out ok. I was planning on using a body paint for my face and arms, but things didn't work out the day of. So I went with my backup plan of white foundation and white pressed powder, which worked for my face but not my hands/arms. The black eye detail is black body paint and my lips are a combination of black body paint and lipstick.
Personal Thoughts:
I love Domino, and I've been meaning to do one of her costumes for a while, but I didn't want to make a boring basic bodysuit. Luckily I stumbled across this (http://iniquitousfish.deviantart.com/art/Olympic-Doodles-Domino-320961265) fantastic piece by Meredith Mcclaren, which has a great mercenary/special ops feel to it that really fits Domino's character. I wore this costume for GraniteCon to celebrate 50 years of X-men and to help judge the costume contest.

I straightened out the entire wig, since the bottom curls under a bit, and then trimmed the bottom to even it out and trimmed the bangs.

Great quality fibers and a great fit, both of which I've come to expect from Epic.
