For the top and skirt, I used some Youtube tutorials to help me out. My pleats still turned out weird, but I'm sure I'll get better at that some day. The tights are off of Ebay, and I just snipped some holes in them. The arm warmer is a sock that I also cut up. The shoes are cheapies from Walmart, and the laces are from Payless, I think.
The wig took up the most time, especially since it was my first big wig project. I attempted to make it look like it was pulled up into mini-pigtails in the front, then cut off the ends so that they were just nubs. It's not very noticeable, so I'd probably attempt it another way next time. I got some acrylic cones from Kingsoopers, although months later I found them cheaper at Hobby Lobby. The cones were wrapped first in the dark blue wefts with hot glue, smoothed down with hair gel. After all that, I added the white wefts and did the whole hot glue and hair gel method with that as well. The cones were sprayed with lots of hair spray, then hot glued onto the pigtail nubs,
For the wefts, I just kind of added them in places that looked right to me. The most confusing part for me was the bangs, which is why they look a bit weird. If I redid this wig again, I'd probably put the blue wefts in before I put the cones on, because it would make it a lot easier to hide the weft's roots under the cones.
I used a fabric pen from Jo-Ann to draw the details onto Ibuki's shirt, and I got a temporary tattoo pen or something off of Ebay for the scar. However, I forgot to use the pen so I have no scar in most of my pictures! Woops. - Personal Thoughts:
- It was a lot of fun to make, and it's super comfy to wear. Just need some new contacts and to remake the wig, and I think I'll be pretty happy with it!
