Construction Details:

Menace's chestplate is made of Plastex sheeting, shaped with heat and painted gold with Rub n' Buff. The gems are either cast in plastic resin or small plastic gemstones. The backs of all the gems were painted with glitter and metallic enamel. The chestplate is connected to the back straps, and attaches to the neck piece using snaps. The neck piece is made out of two layers of thick pleather material painted a dark silver with a strip of plastic around the neck for support. I decided to wear a bikini top underneath the chestplate for some extra coverage, as Menace is shown with a blue and white striped bikini in one of the QB figures. The outer part of the bikini and panty are made of blue satin spandex and white stretch PVC, sewn in strips. The base of the bikini is lined in white spandex and has padded cups sewn into it. The gold rings on the side of the panty are wood and metal rings, painted gold with Rub n' Buff. The panty is strung together with black cord and an added clear strap underneath for support. The front panty flap is a semi transparent reflective organza. The gold arm cuffs were made of craft foam covered in gold stretch PVC fabric. Menace's headpiece was made of Plastex sheeting, covered in the custom made blue stripe fabric, and raised details also made out of Plastex. The middle part of the headpiece is Plastex with the cobra head sculpted out of styrofoam covered in Paperclay. The headpiece is lined in black fleece to resist slipping off the wig. The brown leg parts are made of brown pleather, sewn into a lattice pattern. The shoes are wooden platform sandals found secondhand, with the white fabric tops added by me. I also decided to keep the nude ankle strap that the shoes originally had in order to be able to walk. Setra, the staff was made using various bits of plastic, craft foam, styrofoam, and paperclay. The large ball for the face was an oversized plastic Christmas ornament. The staff is able to come apart in two pieces for traveling and storage.

Personal Thoughts:

Menace is my all time favorite Queen's Blade bad gal! I made this costume to join in Kapalaka's Queen's Blade group at Dragoncon 2013. It took all my courage to wear this costume, but it was a lot of fun. I plan to continue making progress on this costume, by fixing up parts that could be improved and continue to work on myself to be in better shape. :)

Styling Notes

The only styling I did on this wig was cutting blunt, medium length bangs into it and lightly flat ironing the ends straight.
