Personal Thoughts:

My 5th grade Halloween costume. This was by far the most challenging costume that I had to design for my mother (that was the rule - she would make it, but I had to figure out HOW she was going to make it). We got the Disney art book and tried to figure out how all the pieces came together. This was before the rise of Google/general search engines, so we didn't have sites to show us how ancient Chinese garb worked. The pink top is attached to a white skirt as a single dress, then there are various wraps that go on top. I didn't have time to make a comb, so I went to the craft store to pick up a flower.

I loved this cosplay to pieces and I managed to fit into it through 2002.
