About this Costume
Construction Details:
PINK AND HEARTS AND RUFFLES. I was having Madoka flashbacks while making this.

Mostly cotton and cotton sateen, the dark pink is a heavier polyester blend. I modified a pattern for the shirt, but everything else was drafted from scratch.

The shirt doesn't actually button down the front for a cleaner look -- the whole panel with the buttons and ruffles is topstitched straight on. The corset is boned and lined and closes with an invisible zipper on the side. I cast the hearts out of resin and painted them. The glove hands are actually a knit in the same color as the woven material of the cuffs.

I bought thigh-high boots and cut and modified the tops to get the right shape and details. The hip belt was pretty simple, but my machine hates topstitching more than two layers of pleather.
Personal Thoughts:
As a longtime FE fan, it was only a matter of time before I made an Awakening costume! My little sister decided she wanted to cosplay Gaius and so I made Maribelle to go along with it, since she's one of my favorites.

AND THEN YUSUKE KOZAKI SIGNED MY HAIRBOW.

Styling Notes
I made five giant sausage curls using the tape/wire/caulk method and sewed them into the base wig (for which I really should have used just a short wig instead of a ponytail wig). Basically a Mami wig on steroids. This was my first time doing anything of the sort. Never again.
