About this Costume
Construction Details:
Lots of Casa Statin. The blue skirt with the gold ring is 7 yards of fabric with a 17 yard ruffle on the bottom. rnSince there are really no color references for her I picked the colors from what I know about her. First she is a water dragon so blue- lots of blue. Then the gold because Tenko and her brother Kijin were made when there father recived power from the Golden Emperor. To much power for him to handle, so it spilled over and some golden light touched the clouds and became Kijin, and some fell in the sea and became Tenko. So gold became the accent color, even though I prefer silver lol. The last layer is ivory- I wanted a new color. So this is like the white foam on the waves, and the blue net on the trim is similar to a fishing net.rnThe over all design is pretty simple, lots of rectangles and circles. I wanted to take my time with finishing and the trim and ruffles took forever!rnThe under layer is the first layer from the first time I remade this, and there are a few balls in the head dress from the very first Tenko I made. rnFor Katsucon I added a gold trim to the white over layer and hand stitched about 250 pearls into it. Also I have some sea creature charms tucked around the edge. I when back a rebuilt the crown as well. I kept the same Styrofoam balls but added new river rock beads and flowers to it. Also a new headband and wire structure. I had to completely take apart the under layer and refinish all the seams and edges to bring it up to par. I also added a hand painted panel to the sleeve of the middle layer and re did the obi. Over all I am finally happy with this, and can say I have no plans to remake or change a thing.
Personal Thoughts:
So Tenko was my first cosplay at the first Anime Boston. 2012 was the 10 year anniversary of the convention and myself cosplaying. I really wanted to remake Tenko, but I was also very focused on my masquerade costume and did not leave a lot of time for this. Then end result was okay, but not what I wanted. So got back to work again, and with a needed nudge from Isisa and her amazing Kijin I took 3 weeks to make this for the AAC Summer Matsuri. But I still was not fully done. I went to my first Katsucon in 2014 and decided to really go all out and shine it up for the Masquerade to make the whole experience complete.

Styling Notes
Pulled some of the sides back and pined up to a half tail. brushed in place and hair sprayed./ For Katsucon I got an Arda Wig. I straitened it and pulled it back into a low pony tail then separated it out and braided each part, then twisted it together in a fancy bun.
Wig Review
This was an ebay wig. I had originaly bought a Arda Wig, but when it came in it was not the right colors. It had pink and blond with a green blue. I found this on ebay.
