Construction Details:

The corset is a modified pattern to have a front tie instead of a back. There are three layers of fabric: a lining, twill and the satin. Each and every seam is double boned with spiral steel boning. 00 grommets were used and standard corset lacing. The red bias tape is custom made from taffeta so all of the red would match. Each piece is slip stitched down for a clean look. The longer pieces all have garter clips and a buckle-type thing on them as per the reference art.

The skirt is 3 full circle skirts (over 6yds in circumference) with an elastic waistband because that makes gathering -so- much easier. Its hemmed with .5" horsehair braid to give the skirt volume. The giant bow in the back is double interfaced so it sticks up and is noticeable.

The collar is a strip of satin matching the corset fabric, with a red sparkly rose I found in the clearance bin at JoAnns.

The hair piece is a blank hairclip with 3 matching buttons hot glued to it.

The shoes were originally nude color and with homemade modpodge (aka white glue and water) and half a jar of glitter they became the glorious pair of footwear pictured.
