About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The basic design was draped on my dressform, then I modified the different neckline for each one. The design is very basic, which made putting the costumes together very simple. Each dress was then gradient dyed, following the tutorial on Rit's website. It was very easy, but a pain to wash all the dye out. I then hemmed all the edges with a decorative stitch using gold thread.
I then made a sash for each costume and stenciled on a triforce on each one. I made make new ones, as I originally wanted to do applique but was running out of time. The gold sashes are made from organza I had in my stash.
All in all, very simple to construct, but I would love to add more details to them for the future. - Personal Thoughts:
- I love Zelda and the mythology of the three goddesses, and one day I drew up Grecian-inspired designs for all three. While working on it, I noticed that the three goddesses shared the three colors of the three characters from Magic Knight Rayearth (Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu), which my friends and I recently cosplayed from.
I had a bolt of silk that I had gotten for free that I had been itching to use with dye, so I asked Shiva and Gale if they would wear these costumes if I made them, and they agreed. (Who would say no if their friend offered to make them a free costume? :P)

- Wig Review
- I bought this wig four years ago when I was planning on cosplaying Rydia (still has to happen...), and it just sat in my fabric bin forever. The fibers are gorgeous, but the hairline is AWFUL.
I eventually bought a Jane in a dark green from Arda, which is much better :D
