Construction Details:

All of the costume was made out of kona cotton.
Please guys, as a favor to me, don't make formal kimonos out of kona cotton.

The sleeves were tricky. I decided to do the darker pink design separate and then add it on. I used freezer paper to paint the flowers on and then appliqued the darker pink on.

For the apron/skirt thing? I made a template and then hand painted all those stripes.

The wig I had at a-kon actually frizzed out while in my suitcase on the way to expo, so 30 minutes before judging, I ran to the dealer's hall and epic cosplay saved me :D

The hair pieces was made from a base hair comb and I added pearls to the center of each flower (to make them prettier) and then strung together the flowers using black thread
