About this Costume

I can't remember the patterns I used for this costume. If I find the patterns I used for the tunic and fur vest, I'll update this. The pattern for the pants was a typical pant pattern like you see in "nurse" outfit patterns. I bought the fabric for the tunic at an upholstery shop in Fabric District in LA. It was a lucky find! :D I wanted a texture to my fabric. However, I had to use grommets so the fabric wouldn't fray when I stabbed holes in it for the ties on the chest.rnrnThe pants are a cotton blend of some sort that I bought at Joann's. The belt is made of a fake suede that I also got at Joann's.rnrnI made boot covers with stretch suede. The boots were my old boots for my Link cosplay. Thick batting is sandwiched between the suede and a cheap fabric. I had to handsew the two sides together in the front and back. It was really THICK and took forever. I then hot-glued the bottom onto the boots. I stuffed some fluff into between the boot cover and the boot to make it fuller and fatter. I then pulled down the top of my boots and used it as the fur!rnrnI also plan to make the pants more form fitting to my legs and add the "stitches" that are on Hiccup's calves and thighs.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Having an awesome How to Train Your Dragon group was epic! Can't wait for a photoshoot with everyone!
