About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress: This really wasn't debated at all, as it just made more sense to make a dress, rather than be accurate and make a leotard + a skirt ontop. I used a simple princess cut pattern and added in the black bits. The dress fits like a cheerleader outfit. I used a different pattern than Bubbles and Buttercup.

Letterman Jacket: Again, I used a different pattern than Bubbles and Buttercup. I used a collared shirt pattern and altered it in to the correct fit and length. The collar and sleeves were measured out and attached to the jacket after sewing in batting to give them volume. I used extra wide bias tape for the white lines. I appliqued the white heart on the back with a darker pink thread. The big P was an iron on transfer. Sadly, mine does not show as well as the other two because I bought the wrong type of transfer paper. weh :(

Shoes: I made a bootcover which I glued directly onto a pair of city sneaks from payless. I then covered up the seams with thin craftfoam in order to make a fake shoe sole. They velcro in the back. The first one I did had to be held together with a safety pin because I forgot to account for the velcro, making it unable to close correctly. This was the only saftey pin on my costume.

Accessories: Black gloves were bought from Humbug, cut to length and fray checked to keep from fraying. Instead of using a closure on my wrist poofs, I just sewed them shut and slipped them on. I made "fake bias tape" using the leftover fabric from my dress and sewed them on all the poofs. Poofs are stuffed with polyfill. The choker is made of black ribbon with a velcro closure and a mini "P" meticulously cut from craft foam. The earrings were a birthday gift from Blynx (they are real!) The giant bow was made with leftover fabric from my Medicine Seller costumes. I accidentally bought stabilizer instead of iron on interfacing(don't ask) so I kinda had to improvise. The bow was sewn like a pillow, and stuffed with a tiny bit of polyfill. The stabilizer helps the bow keep its shape, but otherwise is probably unneeded.

Belt: We had a low budget, and a month. We cast resin gems from each belt, backed them with tag board and glued them onto the belt. The big gem on the buckle was cast a very light color. For the backing, instead of tag board, we printed a circle of color with a white P in the middle. Once on the gem, the P was the lighter color, and the rest of the gem was the correct darker color. The buckle was made from a mixture of thin and thick craft foam and glued directly onto the belt. The actual belts were a 5$ white belt from walmart.

Yo-Yo: Tell me why Buttercup and Bubbles get giant weapons, and Blossom gets some lame yoyo? I bought a pink duncan imperial and printed a sticker to put on both sides of the yoyo. Tsuki taught me a yoyo trick to do on stage. That's about all I can do though; I still can't get it to sleep :(

Wig: My Blossom wig is an f. Red Angela 740 from New Look, and a Clip in fall in the same color. I wanted to stay away from bright orange for fear of the color clashing with my skin tone. I styled bangs into the Angela, and put the remaining hair into a low ponytail. I attached the clip in fall ontop of the ponytail to give it height. The wig was weighed down and kept slipping despite combs being sewn into anchor points. The giant bow sat nearly ontop of my head and was attached using triangle clips.
Personal Thoughts:
I blame this entirely on Jehn.
