About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Dress is made out of fabric that was gifted to me by EllyStar, and the embroidery was done using a satin stitch on my sewing machine. Apron is made out of microsuede, with bias tape trim, and an embroidered Hyrule crest to match. Shawl piece is made out of white heavyweight linen, with the crest embroidered on. Boots are the ones I used for Padme, just hand sewed a light tan microsuede cuff to the top, and fixed the elastic along the back. Resin belt, buckle and gem made by Starlit Creations. Brown "leather" belt is from my Padme costume as well and snaps together, and the fringe is left over from my Terra costume.
After OtaVegas, I went back and redid the satin stitching around the gem, so it's where it should be, and after Katsu I remade the brown belt, since it was much too long and didn't hang right. - Personal Thoughts:
- Finally able to make something out of fabrics I had laying around! Yay saving money on costumes.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I originally cut a long curly clip in half lengthwise, and sewed it around the temple pieces of the Luthien. Sealed the ends of the main ponytail and side pieces with gem glue, then washed it out to restyle the wig. Bangs were trimmed for me by Seiya, since I didn't want to derp them up by doing it myself. For Katsu, I ended up taking the curly clip pieces out, and wefting in about half of a platinum Matilda (leftover from when I made my Jaina wig). The gem glue didn't wash out so well, so I used Got2B this time which didn't quite hold the wig together like I wanted, but it's still washable.
