About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress - first time making one! Made out of a really nice satin that appears to have some texture to it and is completely lined on the inside.
Waistband & bow - made out of bridal satin, lace is attached using fabric tac.
Headphones - used a pair of dead headphones I had as a base. Found a template online of the butterfly wing and traced it out onto black craft foam and cut out the inside pieces with an exacto knife. The pink inside is the backing of those cheap project folders (which gives off a really nice frosted look when light shines through). The circular pieces are craft foam, and the insignia is actually screen printed fabric (which I obtained from Amaryie who had done Magnet Luka already and had extras I could use). Covered the headband with leftover satins from the dress as well as extra lace.
Hat - completely winged this XD made out of interfacing, twill, bridal satin and lace for the band. Originally I had pins glued underneath it to slide over the headphones but after wearing it out once I'm going to attach the hat to the headphones themselves. There's more I'd like to add to them though, mainly components to make them light up.
Lace gauntlets were borrowed from my sister, the tights and shoes I already owned.
Personal Thoughts:
I wanted to do something outside the norm of what I usually do as well as have something relatively comfortable to wear in the heat at AX'13. I actually kept it as a surprise from my friends, so their reactions when they saw me in a dress and heels (as opposed to the crossplay I usually do) was worth it XD

Wig Review
I picked this wig in particular because of the color - most Miku wigs I see are either too blue or too green, and this had the perfect teal color I wanted.
