Construction Details:

The fabric is poly shantung from Joann in Calla Green and White. The white was aged with a wash of watered down acrylic paints in yellow/bronze/cocoa. The symbols were hand painted with a brush and black screen printer's ink. The dowel was cut to length and painted an antique gold.

The symbols say: Universe of the four gods, the names of all the celestial warriors of Genbu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Seiryu, the four countries, the four gods, the four priestesses, Fushigi Yuugi, shoujo, and Yuu Watase. I apologize if any of them are wrong, I don't read/write Japanese. I found most of them on the Fushigi Yuugi Wiki page.

Personal Thoughts:

I've wanted one of these to go with my costumes since Sumikins and Rynn waved them around for WCS 2010. So since I've had a bunch of extra time on my hands I put one together.
