About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used Cotton for all of the fabric. For my gloves I just took a large sheet of paper and made a pattern, measuring the width of my hand, wrist and up my arm. Drew out the shape (Making sure to add at least half an inch on each side for seam allowance) then I cut it out. (I've used the pattern several times actually) For the black part of the sleeves I just made a tube that I could fit my arm into and sewed it onto the sleeves of the robe. The bow and Obi are both pretty much large rectangles. The obi has some Pellon Interfacing in it to give it a little more support, and the red tie is fed through the obi. The tie is long enough to go around the back and tie in the front. I did it this way because that way I could weave the tie through the bow and hold it on. To make the bow I made a rectangle with interfacing and made a smaller rectangle for the "Knot" of the bow. For the shoes I bought plain black Mary Jane style shoes and made spats to cover them. I found a pattern for spats online but my calves are kinda fat, so I used the one i printed out as a template and traced a new pattern onto some paper. Sewed those together and made buckles for them, sewed on some elastic so they would stay around my foot.

Wig Name
Medium Straight w/ Bangs
Original Color:
black
Styling Notes
Putting the wig in a ponytail was kind of difficult. It's really helpful to pin the wig to a Styrofoam head.
Wig Review
This is the wig I originally used for Nico Robin.
