About this Costume
Construction Details:
The fabric is cotton and I got it on sale for $1.50/yd if memory serves me right. The dress is fully lined and interfaced. If I had the choice to make it again, I would have added boning in the bodice area. The back has eyelets and cording for a more fitted look. Blouse was purchased from Forever XXI and when worn correctly has a camisole under it. The complete outfit has a Navy Blue velvet sailor bolero/jacket to go with it. Also when in its compete form there are solid ivory tights and knee high, brown boots worn with it. (And of course a petty coat).
Personal Thoughts:
I really had a lot of fun drafting the pattern for this JSK. I had seen similar ones available through Japanese Lolita Fashion shops. But because I am a very tall person I do not fit into tiny, little, Japanese made clothing. So I took initiative and made my own.
