About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The main piece of this, the corset, was made by Pendragon costumes. I strongly recommend them.
The skirt was the bulk of the work, it's from Simplicity 1819. I really wanted a bustle, haha. I was back and forth in the fabric store (holding the corset and getting stares) between the cotton I ended up using and several other fabrics. I wish the fabric had more drape, but overall I like the utilitarian feel of it. I found the spacey-waciest lining fabric I could, it's hideously sparkly and hard to work with, but I feel it evokes the TARDIS interior.
Boots are from DSW, I wear them all the time.
The necklace was a lucky find at the Otakon artist alley. The ring is from Charming Charlie's, I made the hair clip from scraps of leather, brass chain and beads. Stockings...Target? Maybe? I don't recall! - Personal Thoughts:
- I was encouraged to buy the beautiful corset from Pendragon Costumes, then had to figure out what to wear with it! I really like the character of Idris and decided to make a spin on the TARDIS inspired by her outfit and details from the corset. I love this little outfit!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Um, I clipped a flower in it.
- Wig Review
- Good, but the curls snag and tangle a little.
