About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The cape is more or less a lined circle skirt using red organza. The lapels were patterned into the circle skirt and have interfacing in them to keep them stiff. The red details are all hand stitched onto the lapel and all 14 buttons are functional. Gold fabric of some sort was used for the trim of the collar and the shoulder details. The bow in the back is the same red organza stuffed with tulle to keep its shape. The tails are using the same fabric as the rest of the cape and are two sides sewn together and turned out to get clean edges.
The top is a sadly discontinued shade of purple glitter casa satin. Its a standard bodice pattern and the scalloped edges were done with a heated craft knife.
The belt is a belt I found at the thrift store, cut the original buckle off and added the purple sateen.
Shorts were bought shimmer denim pants that were cut and the white jersey trim added to the bottom.
Ribbons are ribbons glued to my legs with It Sticks body adhesive.
Shoes are bought.
Microphone is a pvc pipe with add ons I found at home depot. The crisscross detail is made from worbla as is the top piece. The dangling thing on the bottom is the same gold fabric as the cape - Personal Thoughts:
- I adore this costume but it sucks to put on
Wig Details
- How was the wig colored?
- sharpies
