About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
When the DLC was released for Batman Arkham City I was drawn to Harley's new design. It was the same outfit as the City version, just a bit of a color swap happened. I really liked the gauntlets for this version as well.
The gloves, bra and choker were from my Arkham City costume.
I added the J charm to the choker.
I remade the corset with black pleather. I used dark red vinyl piping to trim the edges. The corset is fully lined and has a boning structure inside.
The top was made of left over black and red knit fabric I had laying around.
The pants were black pleather. I used the same pattern for my City costume.
I had a red double eyelet belt already. I painted over it with a darker red and speckled it black with acrylic paint.
The boot covers are still the hardest thing about these versions of Harley. I used red and black pleather (mainly black this time around). I used the same pattern I drafted out for my City costume again.
The veil is made of a black tulle with a black lace trim sewn to the upper half. It ties up in the back with a black ribbon.
The gauntlets were new and probably the most fun part to construct. I used a leather look Lycra for the gauntlets. I added a white boa to the upper edge.
The lower cuffs are a separate part. I used pleather in both red and black. I added black square rhinestones on the black portion. I used white lace ruffle trim for the lower part of the red.
The makeup was really fun with this costume. I took the City look and destroyed it by smearing it and making it less formal looking. I added clear lip gloss to the inner eye drains to make it appear I had been crying. I used a Youtube tutorial for this makeup routine by Emma Pickles for reference.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Just to complete all the costumes from the Batman Arkham Asylum/City series. I had the pattern drafted out from the City variant. I liked the look of the revenge costume better then the city one.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I straightened the pigtails out with a garment steamer. I added some red hair samples from Arda into the one pigtail for the red tips. I set the pigtails up higher on the wig as well.
- Wig Review
- Arda wigs are comfy and quality. I never have any problems with them. They are easy to style and look great!
