Wow okay this cosplay. SO MANY ACCESSORIES.

I got some tips from Kirakira Cosplay's tumblr on how to go about doing this!

The vest was a modified faux leather jacket I found on eBay (brand was Forever 21). I cut off the sleeves and uh didn't even bother hemming it because well my machine can't handle faux leather, haha. The skull on the back was iron on white vinyl. The black paneling was some black upholstery fabric I hotglued on because again, my machine can't handle leather...SOB.

The shirt was a modified slouch shirt and the skirt was cheap cotton and lots of interfacing. The tights were bought off Amazon and the shoes were a pair of Converse I already owned with a Vault Hunter patch I bought off AffrayPatchworks on etsy. Gloves were also bought.

The class mod lunchbox (based off the Tenacious Technophile class mod) was a bought lunchbox that I painted with acrylic. The "grenades" were film roll canisters and small toy kaleidoscopes covered with gray craft foam then hotglued onto a brown belt. The "bikechain" belt was made by cutting out bikechain shaped uh thingies out of 0.4mm styrene, spray painting, and hotglued on to a gray belt. The belt buckle was made by buying a plain rectangular belt buckle, then molding the Vault Hunter symbol with paperclay, then sanding.

The necklace was made using some metallic strip things I found at Blick and some leathery like string for Michaels??? I wish I knew what it was actually called. The choker was made by hotgluing two plastic embroidery hoops together, then covering them with the same upholstery fabric on the vest. The nuts and bolts were plastic toy ones I found on eBay. The goggles were bought and modified using paperclay.

I used the matte finish spray paint on everything that needed to be sealed to give it that cartoon-y Borderlands look.

WOW OKAY MORE ACCESSORIES

I almost forgot about the bikelock she wears as a bracelet and kind of bullshit my way around this one?? I had left over embroidery hoops and cut one to fit around my hand, then sandwiched some paperclay between two sheets of 0.4mm styrene made to look like the bikelock. Sanded, painted, sealed, etc!

The wrench holster was made using foam mats hot glued together and covered by brown vinyl and the straps were actually horse mouth straps (I think???) that I found. The wrench was a squeaky doggy toy, whehe. The hammer holster attached to the "bikechain" belt was made using the same process.


I am probably most proud of the robot arm because it actually looks like crap in real life but photographs really well, haha. I used 0.2mm styrene for the robot arm and some plastic toy bolts. The fingertips were made using Wonderflex molded directly to my fingers because what is heat and what is pain. Everything was attached onto a long, black, lycra glove I bought off Amazon with velcro.

AAAAND last minute decided on the gun because I actually don't know how to make weapons. I bought a Nerf Vortex Lumitron and modified and painted it to look like SMG Slagga. VERY LAST MINUTE. I was sick of posing for photos without a weapon, because that looked lame :(

THE CELL SHADING WAS THE MOST ANNOYING THING IN THE WORLD I SWEAR.
I used sharpie, black acrylic, fabric marker, and black Jacquard textile paint to cell shade everything. And I'm still not happy with how I did it. BLUH.

Personal Thoughts:

THE MOMENT I SAW GAIGE'S CHARACTER TRAILER I KNEW I HAD TO COSPLAY HER BECAUSE I TOO, AM A WOMEN OF SCIENCE AND NOT CHILDREN'S BEVERAGES. ANARCHYYYYYY!!!

Anyway, I knew this would take a while to make and I'm still not finished :( I'm missing the melt parts in her hair that keep her pigtails up, the metal bracelet thing on her wrist, and the piston around her belt. One day, I'll actually finish everything...and cell shade it the way I want to.

ALSO this seems to be a lot of people's favourite costume of mine so I'm begrudgingly proud of it in spite of it not being finished or up to the quality I wanted it to be.
