Construction Details:

I purchased a plain red t-shirt from Hancock Fabrics. The sailor collar was made out of black broadcloth and was lined; the stripe was bias tape. This was my first sailor collar, but when I tried sewing it to the shirt, I couldn't fit my head through the shirt due to the collar, so I had to resort to making it a detachable collar by sewing snaps into the collar and shirt. The pink bow, made out of pink cotton, is also detachable. The red bow on my head was made out of red cotton. The pleated skirt was made out of the same black broadcloth, and red bias tape. My friend Crystal taught me the method to making my pleated skirt, but I made it entirely by myself. The socks were regular black knee highs I already owned, but I made the red strips out of stretch fabric, which connect with velcro (there was no velcro on the socks though). This way, I could attach them on the socks without worrying about sewing or gluing them onto the socks.

For Sugoicon 2013, I remade the hair and chest bow.

Personal Thoughts:

This was the first major wig dyeing I've ever done, and I'm proud of the results! I wish I currently had pics that showed the colors of the wig, though... =_=
