About this Costume
- Construction Details:

This was simple, really. The hoodie is a Burda pattern made from sweatshirt knit with fun little pockets. I did an applique for the wings and eyes, embroidered the pupils and nose, and painted the guild mark on the back. The ears were the most challenging part because until this project, I was the least likely person to ever need to make cat ears. I used my plush Happy as reference, eventually getting the fabric properly folded over fleece and felt. (The fleece is on the inside of the ears, making them super squishy for anybody that might be tempted to squeeze them!)
Because it's Lucy, I painted a beige tee shirt with the Heart Kreuz logo since that's her favorite brand. I like to think it was clever. ;) - Personal Thoughts:
- I never cosplay on Sundays because most of my costumes are too much of a pain in the rear end to wear after two days of gallivanting in costumes, heels, and heavy wigs all weekend. I bought myself some blue knit fabric to make a Happy hoodie, then put it on the backburner... until Hiro Mashima tweeted a drawing of Lucy wearing a Happy hoodie. It was fate, I tell you.

- Styling Notes
- I took my meticulously placed ponytail out for this and now I have to put it back up. I probably won't do that again.
- Wig Review
- As a message for anyone in the market for a platinum blonde wig, the name of this is misleading. It's more of a golden yellow, which is the color I was looking for. As far as the style goes, I really love the width of the skin cap on top, it makes the part really versatile and more natural looking. This is an awesome wig and I think it's worth the extra money.
