About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The dress is a pink peach skin fabric and a super lucky find because it's the right color and to me, looks exactly like the material her dress in the game is supposed to be made of. The yellow designs are a satin fabric I appliqued to the dress. The gem on the front is a custom made resin mold glued to the dress.
The blue belt with the Skyloft symbol is actually some kind of spandex I think... I had to add stabilizer to it to make it sit right, but it was the right color. The symbol is also appliqued on, as is the blue boarder. The ring belt is a funfoam base with a raised model magic circle glued to it. The brown belt is vinyl that I folded and sewed in place. I won't tell you how many needles I busted sewing that sucker. The bracelets are also model magic with the designs carved out. I also inserted magnets into the bracelet so they break apart. The boots were the easiest, I bought them and added a vinyl rim. :P The sailcloth took a bit of patterning, but I finally figured out how to make it sit right. The design is also appliqued on the back.
I also had to make new ear molds for this costume, but I am so glad I did, these new ones sit much better!
- Personal Thoughts:
- To be honest I think this cosplay was started because EVZombie really wanted to be Groose. But I do really love this Zelda design, it's so cute!!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- As with anything I started with the wig! It's an Arda wig with wefts added in for the ponytails in front and the one in back. To get the thickness right I glued the wefts to a rolled piece of foam and then glued the ribbons to that.
