Construction Details:

I made the kimono top using the books I got from Maya for making proper kimonos but I shortened it to be just a top. Then I hand cut, sewed, and detailed each double cherry blossom and loose petal. That took a LONG time but was definately worth it. Inside each flower are 5-6 individual beads to finish the detail within the flowers. I used a new skirt pattern to try a new style of skirt and I really liked the body it has. I had drafted the pattern for the skirt and also did all the ruffles (including the headpiece ones) by hand.

Personal Thoughts:

I have wanted to do this costume since I first saw the original image, I love the Oto Country portion of TRC and I just loved all the colors and how cute the costume was!
