Jūshirō Ukitake (Bleach)

We used the base Shinigami uniform (Rukia's) from Folkwear patterns and added the Captains jacket, Butterick 6698. The jacket is lined in crimson lining fabric. The symbols on the bottom and back were designed on the computer, printed on iron-on and then ironed onto the jacket.

The swords were made out of one piece of wood (by my granddad), then routered to give an "edge". Then painted. The hilt guards are made of craft foam. The hilts are wrapped using traditional Japanese wrapping. The swords are connected using a yarn "rope" that was crocheted. The "tags" hanging down are also made from craft foam with dimension given from balsa wood at the edges.
