About this Costume
Construction Details:
I really wanted to give off an expensive vibe without making the dress out of a satin or anything other shiny material; so I went with a stretch suiting that I simply adored. I seriously bought most of the bolt. Whoops! I also didn't want to the dress to be shiny since I wanted to incorporate Thor's armor into the design. I found a beautiful white lace that had a natural shine to it and dyed it silver. I then went over and sponge painted it with a darker silver just to add to the metal/armor feel I was going for. I also didn't want to put the traditional Thor circles on the dress because I thought it might cheapen then design by having them on the boobs. Instead, I added the silver piping that was all hand-sewn on in the shape of his armor detail in the most recent Avengers movie.

Because Thor has a cape, I also wanted to include that into the design. I opted for a cloak since, after many hours of Norse research, discovered that cloaks are kind of their thing. I actually made the cloak from my original Thor cape! I even took apart the wing from my original Thor helmet to make into a fancy headband.
Personal Thoughts:
I really wanted to jump on the bandwagon and make a pretty Avengers dress with some friends but I just didn't care for any of the Thor ones I found. Female Thor would be a princess and I didn't think most original designs captured that. SO I MADE MY OWN!
