About this Costume
Construction Details:
The top, gloves and underskirt are all made from a nice stretch cotton that I found. It had a nice sheen to it that I normally don't see in cottons so I was stoked! All the reds are suede moleskin, which is probably my favorite fabric of all time. The salmon is the wrong side to a cheapo satin and the gold is a linen.

I based the top off a button-up collared shirt pattern I have but heavily altered it. It buttons in the back and has a small keyhole at the neck so it's easier to get my fat head through. The big red bow on the front is actually pinned on, not sewed to the shirt.

The dress is another altered pattern with an added circle skirt and side zipper. I didn't want to put the zipper in the back because I thought it might get in the way when I make the wings.

The two-tier underskirt has 4 circle skirts with horsehair in it for maximum Clamp ruffles. It's actually pretty heavy because the material is so thick, thus it actually slips over my head to fit properly.

Gloves and hat were free-handed without patterns. I wore 3 petticoats under the dress but next time I might try a hoop skirt.

My biggest goal in making this costume was the lace. I found that people just put any old lace on the costume when it should have a deep scalloped lace instead. I searched the Internet and found the perfect lace. It ended up being crazy expensive since there's about 15 yards total, but I'm so happy that I bought it... Even if my wallet cried.

The staff is made from a wooden dowel, Styrofoam, Model Magic, wood fill, plasti dip and craft foam.

I'm hoping the next time I wear the costume, I'll have the wings done as well!
Personal Thoughts:
I loved Cardcaptors as a kid and would watch it every Saturday morning. This costume in particular was one of my dream costumes so I was really excited to finally be making it.
